Jack, the bulldog, and Salsa, a German Shepherd mix, came into our lives with the New Year. Our 10 year old dog, Max, had to be put down due to illness in August 2005. We all missed having a dog around the house, so we decided to look for two puppies. I found the HALO site as a link from ARF, and saw there was an adoption notice for an English Bull Dog. My older son, Dan, has wanted a bulldog for some time, so we sent an email asking about Jack. We got a call from Joyce & set up an appointment to see Jack on New Years Eve. When we walked into Joyce's kitchen there was this bundle of energy that couldn't get enough attention. It was love at first site. That face was just too adorable to pass up. Jack came home with us that same day- of course he thought he should drive home! He had just been neutered, so we had a few weeks of him calming down. Now he is a love bug that wants to do nothing more than be right beside you & give you big sloppy kisses.

The same day we took Jack home, we mentioned that we were also looking for a puppy for my younger son, Stephen. Sunny showed us a picture of Salsa & we set up an appointment to see her the next weekend. Salsa was adorable & chewed her way into Stephen's heart at our first visit. We didn't take her that first day, and went home to think it over. Stephen couldn't get her out of his mind & we ended up going back the next weekend to get her. We brought Jack with us to pick her up to make sure they could get along with each other. They hit it off right away & have been best friends ever since. Salsa loves to use Jack as a chew toy & rough house with him. Their favorite game is tug of war, which Jack usually wins for now. They both have just graduated from their first class of dog training & are now moving on to the intermediate level. We are looking forward to many years of love & companionship from both of them.

Both Salsa and Jack went to and graduated from obedience school. They look quite dashing in their graduation hats.
